Simplify Your Mornings
with These 5 Wardrobe Rules
Are you looking to make your mornings easier and stress free? Put your wardrobe to the test with this simple checklist that will tell you how close you are to having your perfect, rational wardrobe.
If you're like me, you have a million and one things to do in the morning and the last thing you want to do is stress about whether your teal scarf overpowers your navy and purple skirt. Wouldn't it be a dream to just walk into your closet with your eyes half open, pull a few pieces out and throw them on between yawns, only to look like you spent the previous night planning what you were going to wear?

What does the ideal wardrobe actually look like? How do we get style to meet function? What about introducing some time efficiency to your mornings?

The ideal wardrobe consists of a limited number of quality items, each of which is perfect for you and makes you look great in all situations. This is what we call a rational wardrobe.

How do we assess whether your wardrobe is rational and harmonious?

I suggest you look at your wardrobe with a professional lens. I've narrowed the criteria down to five basic elements that, when combined, help craft your dream wardrobe. Using the checklist below, find out whether your wardrobe makes the cut.

1. Your garments easily coordinate with each other

One of the most cherished desires in a woman's wardrobe is the compatibility of her garments. Are all of the clothes in your wardrobe are really matching? If you can pick at least 3 different pieces to match each piece of clothing, then you can assume that your garments are easily coordinated.

2. There are no random items in your wardrobe

Spontaneously purchased clothes that do not fit into the rest of your wardrobe always require additional investments. You will always need to buy more things that can combined with them, since they are typically outliers. Here's the dilemma: do you just donate the random garments or rush to purchase additional pieces to make it work? The less random pieces you have in your wardrobe, the more rational it becomes.

3. Good balance of accessories and clothes in the wardrobe

The more accessories you have in your wardrobe, the greater the combinations of garments you can achieve. It is your accessories that allow you to get an almost infinite number of combinations in your wardrobe. If 50% or more of your wardrobe is made up of accessories, your wardrobe is approaching 'rational status'.

4. Well thought-out outfits for any occasion

The main goal of your wardrobe is to correspond with your lifestyle and allow you to look great for any life occasions. Is the clothing in your wardrobe appropriate for the different roles you have in your life? Do you spend most of your life at the office, but 70% of your wardrobe is athletic wear? Are you a stay-at-home mum, but you're still holding on to your 5 black work skirts that don't really fit anymore? The more accurately your wardrobe represents your current lifestyle, the more rational it is.

5. Expensive, quality items

This is the final point in assessing your wardrobe and it is directly related to all the previous ones. The more rational your wardrobe is, the fewer pieces of clothing you need, so you can choose the most high-quality clothing while staying within the same budget. This allows you to buy nicer designs that last longer, are better quality and are the perfect cut for you.

How well did your wardrobe do with these 5 elements of an ideal and rational wardrobe?

If your wardrobe matches 2 out of 5 points:

Your wardrobe is at the very beginning of the harmonization process. Your homework is now to "clean out" the wardrobe from random items and make sure that every wardrobe garment matches your Colour Code and Style Code.

If your wardrobe matches 3 out of 5 points:

Awesome! You have already taken first steps in creating a rational wardrobe. Now, it's time to move on to a more advanced level. I recommend paying special attention to increasing your use of accessories and creating harmonious clothing sets based on your Colour Code and Style Code.

If your wardrobe matches 4 or 5 out of 5 points:

You're amazing! At this point, you can start really nailing down your Beauty Code and polishing it all off. You can start developing your individual wardrobe plan based on any last items you might need to supplement, which will allow you to make rational purchases with minimal investment, resulting in a magnificent rational wardrobe.

Be Radiant. Be Brilliant. Be Remarkable.
Own your chic.

I don't make clothes look good on you.
I make it so that YOU look exquisite in your clothes.
